Who we are

The Butcher’s Kitchen is run by Liam Turner, trading as [legal name or trading status], based at [postal address]. We are the “controller” of the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.

You can contact us about your data at hello@YOUR-DOMAIN.co.uk.

[ICO registration: add your data protection fee registration number, or note that you are exempt. Check at ico.org.uk/fee-check.]

What this policy covers

This policy covers this website and our early-access email list for the debut recipe book. We do not sell anything through this website yet. If that changes, we will update this policy first.

What we collect and why

Whether you ticked the optional newsletter box Sending you occasional recipes, cooking tips and newsletters, only if you ticked it Your consent

Technical data when you submit the form, such as your IP address Spam and abuse protection, handled by our hosting provider Legitimate interests (keeping the website secure)

We do not ask for payment details, and we do not collect anything about you that you do not give us, apart from the technical data above.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We use a small number of service providers who handle it for us under contract:

  • MailerLite stores our email list and sends our emails.
  • Cloudflare hosts this website, protects it from abuse and runs the spam check on the signup form.
  • Google Fonts supplies the typefaces. When you load a page, your browser requests the fonts from Google, which receives your IP address.

[Update this list if you add or change any provider.]

Transfers outside the UK

Some of these providers process information outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards the UK GDPR allows, such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses, as set out in each provider’s data processing terms. [Check each provider’s current terms and describe them accurately.]

Emails and your choices

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe we stop emailing you and keep only the minimum needed to make sure we do not email you again. You can also withdraw your consent by emailing us. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

The early-access list is for news about the debut book. Recipes, tips and newsletters are sent only to people who ticked the optional box.

How long we keep it

We keep your details on the list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. [Add how long you keep people who stop opening emails, for example “we remove contacts who have not engaged for 24 months”.]

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy
  • correct anything that is wrong
  • delete your information
  • restrict or object to how we use it
  • give you your information in a portable format

We do not make decisions about you using automated processing. To use any of these rights, email us at the address above.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Cloudflare’s spam check may store a small amount of technical data to tell people and automated programs apart. If we add analytics later, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if what we do changes, and change the date at the top.
